Helping Your Teen Find Their Path: Why I Created Targeted Paths

Because every student deserves a path that fits

My journey to founding Targeted Paths didn’t follow a straight line—but every step along the way pointed me here.

I began my career in education as a classroom teacher and later served as both a campus and district-level administrator. These leadership roles gave me a big-picture view of what it takes to support students—from creating systems to serve large groups to implementing programs at scale. But after the pandemic, I made a decision that surprised even me: I returned to the classroom.

And that return changed everything.

Post-COVID, I saw firsthand just how deeply students had been impacted—academically, socially, and emotionally. They weren’t just struggling to catch up on content; they were searching for motivation, direction, and a sense of connection to their futures. Being back in the classroom reignited my passion for working directly with students—and it opened my eyes to the evolving needs that many didn’t yet have the time or resources to fully address.

It was during this time that Targeted Paths was born.

I created Targeted Paths to offer students and families something I saw missing: time, clarity, personalized guidance, and structured support to help them confidently plan their futures. Through career assessments, high school course planning, and college application coaching, I designed a program that helps students connect who they are to where they want to go—on a path that feels aligned and achievable.

Later, my passion for supporting students at a deeper level led me to become a certified high school counselor. In this role, I proudly serve students every day. And while school counseling offers crucial support, I continue to see how personalized services—like those offered through Targeted Paths—can complement and enhance what students receive in traditional settings.

Targeted Paths isn’t just about college acceptance letters. It’s about building confidence, finding direction, and making the college and career planning process less overwhelming for both students and parents.

Because every student deserves a path that fits—and it’s my greatest honor to help them discover it.
